GoodLife Estate Sales provides on-site estate sale & auction events for our client's furnishings, fine art, decor, collections and household goods. We are looking for energetic OCD-types that love to organize items with an eye toward merchandising and a flair for sales. We offer a fun, easy-going work environment and every week is a new sale location somewhere in and around Orange County, California. Our positions pay from $10-$18 per hour, are generally part-time and can be flexible shifts and hours.
We are currently hiring for the following positions:
($10-12 per hour, 18-24 Hours/wk - Must be able to work Mon-Wed)
Ideal candidates must be natural organizers, have the ability to quickly organize household space and have a good eye for merchandising placement, design, color and decor. If you are good at de-cluttering and household organization we would love to talk to you! This is not a housecleaning job but is more about setting up and displaying everything in a client's home as a product. At times, this may involve throwing away non-saleable items and light cleaning of sale items.
($12-15 per hour, 21-28 Hours/wk - Must be able to work Thu-Sat)
Ideal candidates will be well-groomed, personable, excellent communicators, aggressive sales and service-oriented workers as this is a fast-paced customer facing position. Knowledge of display merchandising for furnishings, decor, art, household items, fashion goods and jewelry is highly desirable. Our events are typically 3 days and our sales goal is to sell 100%!!! If you know how to sell with a smile and a wink and love that challenge of getting the customer to buy, then we are eager to get you started!!
All positions are offered on a part-time basis with potential for full-time hours and overtime. Most shifts are an average of 6-7 hours between 8 am and 3pm, Monday-Saturday. Occasionally, certain high-end events in Newport Beach and similar areas are scheduled for the early afternoon into the early evening.
All candidates must be willing to work or be available on most Saturdays (typically the last day of our sales events).
All employees must be able to wear (at times) safety equipment including, dust masks, leather, nitrile or latex gloves, closed toe shoes, long-sleeve shirts. Setup and Breakdown of our events can be dirty, hot and require moving around cluttered areas.
All employees must possess a mobile smartphone suitable for access to internet, email, text and phone calls - Wireless internet access is provided at our sale locations.
Antique & Vintage Items - knowledge of furniture styles, a variety of antiques and vintage collectibles. What is it and when was it made?
Fine Art - knowledge of art, history, methods and values can be helpful. Is it a Listed artist original or print?
High-end Fashions - identification and knowledge of high-end makers of clothing, shoes and other furnishings. Can you spot the fakes?
Ability to speak any of the following Languages - Mandarin, Japanese, Arabic, Farsi , Spanish - Our customers come from all over the world to our events.
Our company invests in our employee's growth and much of the above knowledge will be acquired eventually through educational outings, luncheons with experts and on-the-job training.
Bonding: All of our employees are bonded against theft. There should be nothing in your personal or employement history that will make you ineligible to be bonded.
Transportation: Our weekly events are typically within a 25 mile radius of the heart of Orange County, California. You must have a reliable vehicle to get you to and from each sale location.
Physical Ability: Up to 20% of your job requirements will involve lifting boxes or moving light furniture (chairs, tables, etc.). You should not have any physical limitations or health problems that would prevent you from lifting up to 40lbs. and performing these tasks.
Shift Availability: Our events require staff to be onsite by 8:00 a.m. and shifts are 4 to 8 hours in duration. We can make some allowances but our business is primarily 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, Mondays through Saturdays.
